Hello Everybody! My name is Sisounthone but most people prefer calling me on my nickname “Good” meaning “Curry Hair” in my local language.
Let me warmly welcome you by saying “Welcome to Laos!”
I will be happy to accompany you as local guide during your trip in Laos.
I was born in a small community of farming families in the Lao countryside. Being of humble needs, my parents could not afford to get their sons into school, so at the age of 14, I decided to leave home and go to a Buddhist temple to become a Buddhist monk. I had spent four years there and ended up obtaining a high school education at the Buddhist School.
Right now, I am 29 years old, married and have 2 sons.
After five years of studying I had graduated with an MA degree from the Faculty of Tourism Management at the University in Luang Prabang.
Later on, I applied to the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to participate at a training course for tour guides which I successfully passed to be awarded an official tour guide holding a legal license.
Currently, I am living in Luang Prabang, one of the most beautiful and fascinating towns in Laos with a magnificent landscape of the surrounding mountains and rivers, and I can say that I am really enjoying my life here.
I do really hope that you will open your mind and heart when spending your valued time in Laos to learn more about Lao people, the diversity of the ethnic groups living here, taste our famous Lao cuisine and help us preserve our culture and traditions.
